Matej's Multiprocessing Macintosh Music Player (MMMMP)

MMMMP, as the name implies, is a music player for Mac OS that makes use of Multiprocessing Services. This means that if your computer has two (or more) processors, it can use one processor to decode audio while other (cooperatively multitasked) applications use the other processor.

If your computer has only one processor, the decoding will still be preemptively multitasked, which means that playback will remain smooth even if other processor-intensive applications are running.

The current version is beta 1, released on .

It is considered stable, but there may be bugs. Its biggest limitation is that it can only play FLAC files. (You can convert WAV files to FLAC on Mac OS with Flake. If you have files in other formats, you can first convert them to WAV, for example with SoundApp.)
